The Role
The internship provided me with engaging and important work, and i felt included in the processes of the team. I was given the chance to make a real impact and was trusted with vital work within my department.
My colleagues were very welcoming, and trusted me with interesting work including external firm visits and business model analysis.
My line manager was very supportive, and met with me regularly to check my progress. He was clear on what he expected of me and honest on my development points.
I constantly had important work to do, and felt involved and integral to my team. I was regularly involved in exciting and vital work and in depth projects.
I was given work vital to the departments effective functioning, and had contact with big external firms.
I have developed my analytical skills greatly, and feel more comfortable extracting important data from large amounts of information. It has given me important insights into the culture of the workplace.
The Company
The office atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. People remained calm even in stressful situations, and this set the tone for effective and consistent work.
The internship had valuable insights into various different parts of the FCA scheduled in for us. The only improvement point for me was that our laptops could have been set up in time for our arrival so we could get started earlier.
The FCA invested a lot of time in making sure I knew the ins and outs of daily life in the workplace. I have learnt so much about the world of finance, and I will take these skills forward in the future.

I would love to come back for more work at the FCA. It has been a really great place to grow and learn, and I hope to continue this development in the future.
The Culture
I made some really great friends on the internship, and it was a really good experience working with them. I hope to see them in the future!
London is expensive, and the commute cost me over £10 a day. The cost of living was pretty high.
The nightlife was really good- the surrounding area had a lot of great bars to go to after work.
Yes, there are lots of networks and volunteering opportunities at the FCA.
