    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really liked it, my team was very nice to me and I was given a project to do on my own for the whole month I was there. I finished the project before the end of my internship and my supervisors were happy and proud. I have learnt a lot of things during this internship.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My team was really nice. I felt included from the start. Indeed, where I worked, I was always with someone different from the team, which enabled me to meet more people. Everyone was nice and were really keen to help me have a good experience at CBRE.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It was really good. I had one of the Managers who guided me throughout the whole month, but everyone else was so helpful too.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Quite busy, I was usually there for 8:45 and left at 17:15

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had the whole responsibility for the project I was given which I was really happy to do. When I finished it, I was really proud of myself and my team was proud too. The other tasks, I did have a bit of responsibility but not as much as my project.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed will help me with my studies, especially if I specialise myself in real estate afterwards.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good ! The team looked like they were all happy to work at CBRE and in this department. People were smiling, and I have never seen someone being in a bad mood. They were so helpful between each other and seemed to laugh a lot. They were also all aware of all the different business going on

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was really good. I would just say that as I am from France (having dual nationality GB-FR), I wasn't told from the beginning (when I knew I was accepted) that I had to open a GB account nor was I told that I had to have a UK National Insurance Number. It seems logical when I write it, but it wasn't for me at the time as I live in France.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had and still have the impression that my team invested quite a lot of time with me. Indeed, while going on viewings, they would actually take the time to explain where we were going, explaining what we were about to do, who we were meeting and even explaining how they actually arrived at CBRE.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would really like to work there in the future. I was told by my manager that I did a great job during my month over there and I enjoyed myself while doing it. Indeed, I haven't felt like that for an internship for a long time, and if it were possible, I would love going back there

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes ! We had a WhatsApp group with all the other interns and we saw each other during the day and even on Friday nights. All the interns were really nice, and it was funny to meet so many people from different backgrounds doing this internship. I still talk to some of them !

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I'd say between cheap and expensive? Depending on what we had basically. But it was ok, especially comparing to Paris.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I wouldn't really know, as I didn't live close by from work I had to go back home quite early. We had a few drinks after work but it wasn't a "nightlife". As it was in Mayfair most of the time I'd say it's quite quiet as it's mainly Oxford Street next to the office.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I would say a few, we had a picnic with my team and had a few drinks after work. Every time there was something going on, someone from the team came to me and told me to include me in the "event". I was happy to be included in these "events.
