The Role
The placement was great and very inclusive. I made many friends and had a wonderful time.
Colleagues were very vocal about how much they appreciated my work and this was reflected in the feedback they gave.
My seniors would also ask if I had questions and if so would take the time to take me through my queries thoroughly. They were clear that I should be honest and open about any problems, as not doing so leads to delays for everyone.
Some days were very busy and I needed to stay until 7pm or 8pm, however on other days the team and I left for social activities at 4/5pm. So there is a strong balance and team culture.
Very much. They start off by giving not very much and this levels up as you prove that you are a competant worker and can be trusted.
I learnt theoretical knowledge which helps for the wider picture of my degree. I also learnt more in depth, hands on knowledge, applicable to real life businesses and personal finance.
The Company
Very friendly, anyone will give support. Also a team culture and hardworking but supportive culture.
Very well organised, having only one intern per team allows that intern to recieve all the individual focus and involvement that they need which was great.
I was given full days to just train, and many seniors spent many hours training me and teaching me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing, the potential for substantial and fast career progression is large and promising. I am still waiting on the outcome of their decision.
The Culture
I often went for lunch and drinks with many other interns. The social events set up by EY were really helpful to make friends and I would love to see more EY events for interns set up.
London in itself is very expensive, however as you get used to it you can make it work for you. I.e. most economical ways to eat and get deals on tickets and entertainment.
London has incredible nightlife and truly something for everyone.
Yes, I often attended my team 5 a side and social events like a partner BBQ.
