The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at CBRE. I really looked forward to coming to work every day and I was tasked with very varied and interesting work.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, who were appreciative of my work and fully embraced me as part of the team.
My line manager was fantastic and really went the extra mile to ensure I has appropriate support. I felt very comfortable asking any questions when I was unsure on something.
This fluctuated, with some days being not busy enough and some being a bit too busy, but overall it balanced out and I felt able to give tasks the appropriate amount of attention.
I was given lots of responsibility. A particular highlight was getting to go solo to as a 'mystery shopper' to gain information about a resi development.
The internship helped me improve my communication skills with people in different age groups. It also boosted my networking skills and other soft skills. In terms of hard skills, my knowledge of the resi property industry improved significantly and I built on my excel and other IT skills.
The Company
Yes - a good balance of jokes and banter combined with serious work.
Mine worked well because my team invested in me, but this was not the same for all interns.
Good range of HR-led workshops and presentations.
Company Parties/Events
I am fully committed to working at CBRE as a graduate - I loved my internship so I want to come back!
The Culture
Yes - having 25 interns made the social scene really fun.
Central London is always going to be expensive, but the CBRE discount at Bonds was very welcome.
It was good.
I was invited on the team night out in my final week.
