The Role
A very enjoyable internship if interested in oil & gas markets. Good exposure to both the trading function and the wider business.
Everyone is very happy to help you learn, and to offer useful feedback on your work.
My manager was directly involved in my work and offered lots of guidance to help produce the most valuable work for the business.
Generally, quite busy, but got a little quiet towards the end.
Spent the internship producing new tools to help the business, but was not directly involved in any trading.
Not necessarily at uni, but lessons learnt will be invaluable in the wider world.
The Company
Busy and energetic, but at the same time very welcoming.
Was generally done well, but with a few HR hitches.
We were given a large amount of training, in computer skills and personal skills. I was also given access to specialized pieces of software.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Graduate programme looks good, and job prospects beyond that also seem promising. Graduates rolling off the programme never struggle to find jobs.
The Culture
Excellent social community among interns, school leavers, and graduates, as well as among my team.
Living & working in central London so not cheap.
Busy and expensive.
Plenty of opportunity, from 5-a-side games and classes at the gym, to organised socials.
