The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at PwC. I have been given a variety of tasks which have kept me busy throughout my internship which has given me an insight into how the team I'm in would function. I enjoyed the location and the office as there are plenty of facilities in the area, however, being in this area makes everything expensive.
As I was put into a smaller team, everyone knows everyone including the senior people. With no designated seating areas there could be days where a partner would come and sit on the same table as you. Everyone here has been encouraging and friendly and always happy to answer questions.
Everyone here has been very supportive and encouraging throughout. Everyone is always willing to answer any questions that I had which meant it was very easy to complete the required tasks. You have both a buddy who can assist you with any day to day queries as well as a careers coach who can help with any other queries.
There has been a mixture of work throughout. There have been some days where I had enough work at all points during the day and there have been some days that have been empty for a few hours. It all depends on how much work is available for an intern skill set as there is nothing very technical that can be passed on.
I have been given work from senior associates all the way to partners. As all work is reviewed by someone else it is easier to be given more responsibility with minimal intervention from higher ups. It is very reassuring when senior level people give work that is still important overall, especially when its urgent work.
The skills I have developed will be very useful. I now know what it is like to be in a professional setting and get used to the working life structure. In terms of technical skills I have managed to pick up a few of the basic ideas so far which can assist me further.
The Company
The atmosphere has been very relaxed. When I thought about PwC, I assumed it would be very strict with the utmost professionalism, however, it is very relaxed and chill and as long as you do the work that you've been given in time to a good quality everything is justified.
Overall it has been set up very nicely. One issue was to do with the level of work. Sometimes people just don't have any non-technical work that can be provided which makes the level of work each day inconsistent. However, everything else has been well thought out making the experience very seamless.
Initially, all the interns were given a 3 day all expense paid visit to a hotel in windsor where we were given our initial trainings, work computer etc. That was very enjoyable, however, there were a lot of people from all the PwC offices thus you would never see most of the people again. After that there is no more investment in the people.

Working from home
Future prospects look promising as so far it has been a very enjoyable experience. Most interns are offered a graduate job after the internship in the same Line of Service and team. However, in my case I will have to be taking more exams to get a qualification by the end of it.
The Culture
Other interns here are social, meeting up for lunches and meeting up outside work on fridays. Colleagues also met up outside work for drinks occasionally. Overall everyone was friendly with each other and willing to meet up after work hours. People are also sociable during work with the occasional chats in between.
As my office is in London, everything is expensive here. The majority of lunches have been Tesco meal deals, even though there are many areas to eat they are always very expensive. Drinks are also very expensive which makes socialising in pubs less of an option, however, there are ways to work around this such as there being a spoons nearby.
My office is in Central London so there is plenty of options available. However, it is expensive and most people here preferred to just get drinks and chill out somewhere near to the office. All the options are available so it is all based off of preferences of what you actually want to do.
There are activities outside of work such as sports clubs, however, I don't believe it is very well advertised as you would have to actively search for it to find these clubs. They do exist though and there are quite of a few different clubs so there is always something to do.
