The Role
Gathered a range of experience and knowledge within my internship. Managed to work alongside many teams which provided a range of work and experience. However, sometimes I was given work which seemed meaningless or would spend time not having anything to do due to a lack of tasks which could be given to me
My colleagues were always around to help with any issues I had at any level. I was also able to broaden my knowledge through shadow days which were valuable and once again I felt valued by all the people I interacted with. Could not fault the people at the company
Most tasks were explained clearly and guidance was given with the ability to ask as many questions as I would need. Support was also given in organising shadow days with different teams and departments which i found very beneficial. Only issues would be low response times on occasion although understandably would often happen due to them being busy.
Some days when I was given one big project or task I found myself very busy and on other occasions multiple tasks became available which kept me busy. However I also had frequent days where I was not very busy despite asking for extra work from my supervisors whenever I was free
I was given a fair amount of responsibility in terms of taking on tasks alone and being trusted to complete them to the best of my ability. However I was not able to ever take full responsibility as tasks had to be checked. Overall I'd say I still had a good level of responsibility
All the skills I learnt will assist me greatly in my degree studies and beyond. Most of these skills came down to work ethos and how the world of business works, but also accountancy skills which I did not have before have now grown and my global knowledge of a range of skills had grown
The Company
It was a good atmosphere with everyone being extremely friendly and easy to talk too. Many events big and small also helped keep the office environment fun and fresh. The only times atmosphere was low seemed to be regarding the work at times with some people clearly not satisfied in their roles
The on-boardment and set up process was smooth and all the support was there which was necessary. The induction days at Winsor were also well organised and set up. However, once I was put on client work it was clear that often supervisors would struggle to give me work and seemed unprepared for an intern to be on the team.
The firm invested heavily in this area from setting up goals to be met at the start of my internship to allowing me to spend a day shadowing the marketing team as this was my passion and what my current degree was geared towards with little barriers to entry in this area.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Future employment prospects with the company would be very appealing however due to personal reasons I would hope to be put into the marketing side of the company rather than the audit side. This was due to the overall company experience as well as the amazing people I was able to meet
The Culture
There was an average social scene amongst colleagues with a fair range of activities after work and chances to get involved, however due to the size of the regional office there was little in terms of social life among the fellow placement students due to the lack of numbers between us.

Yes there were a fair amount of opportunities which were explained by the company and echoed by fellow colleagues, and I would definitely get involved in these if i came back to the firm. These included charity days and away days within teams which seemed to be extremely accessible and supported
