The Role
I have been randomly placed in a team, which had both positive and negative aspects to it. The overall atmosphere within the team and the company was good and people around tried to help me facilitate my learning processes as much as they could. However, here are some things I would have improved.
I have been very lucky when it comes to the people in my team - everyone was extremely welcoming and was helping me achieve best results. They treated me like a full member of the team, which resulted in both high quality and amount of support, but also expectations just as high as with others.
I felt like I could ask my supervisor about anything I was concerned or not sure about. The constant support motivated me even more, and positive atmosphere which both of us contributed to helped me get through any obstacles on the way. Our relation was absolutely fantastic and I hope I will have such managers in the future.
I was usually quite busy with tasks, but often had bottleneck situations in which I had to wait for someone's response or guidance in order to proceed with my work, and because the team was so busy sometimes I was waiting relatively long. That however, did not negatively influence my overall experience or feelings about the internship.
I have been given full responsibility of my work and I was doing exactly or almost exactly the same BAU as my colleagues which was the perfect environment for learning. At the begging I was slightly overwhelmed and needed more support, but everyday I could notice improvement which was also noticed and appreciated by my managers.
During my internship I have developed variety of soft and hard skills relevant to my studies even further. I have learned a lot about financial markets, products and other aspects of a bank. I am certain it will help me with my studies next year and hopefully will get handy in my future career as well.
The Company
The atmosphere was usually amazing - people were very knowledgeable, supportive and friendly, yet professional and calm in more hectic and stressful situations. Some of us were getting along so well that I hope we created such relations that will be continued in the future, no matter how our career path will continue.
It was organised well. There are definitely areas of improvement when it comes to standardizing training or getting accesses ready for new joiners in order for them to start work asap. Nevertheless, the events that the interns could attend or that was organised especially for them were of the highest quality and everyone enjoyed them a lot.
At the begging my team have organised training for me after which I was not certain of what I should do during my work. However, with time, asking questions and getting experience I gained sufficient knowledge to do my work independently. Training organised by HCM with other teams were good and needed.

The Culture
We got along extremely well with my class of interns and I am sure we will stay in touch in the future. We have organised multiple trips and events independently of the firm and have enjoyed each other's company. The atmosphere between us was more friendly than I was expecting and luckily no one was trying to be particularly competitive in order to destroy good times between us.
The cost of living in the capital is high, and because the office is located in the center - costs of living rose accordingly with the proximity of the flat to the workplace. I appreciated the fact that the company gave us a housing bonus, but unfortunately it has been taxed, so we have not really felt the extra cash flow.
