The Role
I really enjoyed being part of the team and working as part of the engagement.
Was valued for the work that I did and felt recognised for what I had contributed to the team.
Alan Piggott was very supportive at all stages of the engagement that I participated in. I really appreciate the time and effort that he put in.
There was always work for me to do. After completing a task I would make my supervisor aware and he would arrange to give me more work to complete.
I started on smaller tasks to get me used to the systems and work etc. and then as I built on my knowledge was given more responsibility as the weeks went on.
I found that I am now able to relate what an audit is to what I have learned at university but have the added advantage of seeing first hand what it's like in real life.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed and you were trusted to get the work done in the allocated time.
On the first day in the office our time was allocated out so we knew what we would be doing each week and where we would be working.
The company provided an all paid for training trip to London. They then continued to support me via coaching. Overall, I feel that there was a lot of investment.
National Travel
I would be more than happy to come back and work for the organisation again.
The Culture
Lots of opportunities to socialise through organised events. End of month drinks, Hamilton Races, graduate presentations and I have been told that throughout the year there is always an opportunity to attend social events. There were even massages organised during the working week.
I live a half an hour train journey away from the office therefore, my expenses are less than somebody living in the City Centre of Glasgow. However, I feel when socialising prices are reasonable for city prices.
Lots of restaurants, bars, shops and nightclubs within the vicinity of the office.
In the six weeks I spent at the company there were several opportunities to socialise and get involved in activities.
