The Role
I really enjoyed it. It really challenged me and proved to me that a career in software engineering was for me. There was also lots of support from the project leads. I personally learnt a lot about distributed systems and worked on AWS. I feel like I've learnt a lot for my next year at Uni.
Very, I was constantly appreciated for work I had done and any achievements I have made.
I was given all the support I had asked for. They were always happy to help.
There was never a boring moment. You are either working on your project or learning through the companies access to Pluralsight.
I was given complete responsibility of the project I was on. But we were given guidance when you were unsure about what to do next.
It works perfectly into a number of my modules, and also gives me an idea for my dissertation.
The Company
The general atmosphere is very relax and you never feel under pressure. There could however be more organised socials.
Very well organised. We always knew in advance what we'd be doing, and each event was well organised.
There is a lot of personal development and several workshops to choose from. Such as public speaking, software, and github
Above 25 days holiday
Got an offer! Most people in our department did and there is a great grad scheme to join.
The Culture
Yes but we had to organise everything ourselves. We were all very close at work but didn't do much outside of it.
Very reasonable for the south. Rent for me was £425 a month including bills.
I never went out. there were a few Wetherspoons but wouldn't really feel safe on a night out.
There was social football but the interns did not get preference over the full time employees.
