The Role
My day to day tasks are extremely varied. I have tended to work with different people in different places every week and this keeps the job interesting. The office has a good atmosphere and on the whole the job is enjoyable.
Working on audits in fairly small teams and with different people each week have allowed me to develop friendships with colleagues fairly quickly.
Staff tend to be much more busy during the first few months of the year and less busy in the Summer but usually the balance is pretty good.
Staff are encouraged to learn and develop in their role throughout their career, and usually have the opportunity to work on aspects of an audit independently after the first few months
Working in audit has direct relevance to my degree and therefore should be helpful. Furthermore, I have attending courses and sat exams related to accounting, audit and business finance which overlap with modules in my degree programme.
The Company
Placement students are paid the same salary, receive the same training and complete the same tasks as graduate joiners.
All exam fees and training are paid for by the company. New starters also spend several weeks at the companies training centre in High Wycombe, and go to a national training induction along with all other trainees across the country.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
The placement programme guarentees a job on completion of my degree, providing I achieve a 2.1 or higher.
The Culture
The Milton Keynes office historically only take on 1 placement student a year, however there was plenty of opportunity to get to know the other new starters.
As my placement was local I was able to live at home. The office is also close to cheap pubs and restaurants and central milton keynes shopping centre.
