The Role
It was a wonderful experience at ARUP, I learn so much during the 6 weeks work placement, it was a really fruitful experience there is so much variety to work on.
Colleagues value much of your work and are willing to answer your questions when they are free. THey opt to help you and get the best of you during the internship. They also would like you to learn as much as possible
My supervisor is very busy but he always spent time on me and give me great advice when I am stuck on something, same goes to all other colleagues.
I am quite busy at the majority of times but this is great as I can work and learn on a daily basis.
During the internship, i was tasked for some stress analysis and ship impact calculation for a sea wall and tunnel system, a large responsibility for an intern
This internship allow me to see the working place of a Civil and structural Engineer and i have learn some engineering skills from this intern. These skills will be skills for life
The Company
Its a professional Environment.
Everything was well organised and I settled in very quickly. I am always assigned to work and instructions were clear.
Life skills development, critical thinking and decision making.
A great company, would love to get a job with them. However places fro these jobs are very competitive.
The Culture
Made a few friends with the other summer placements, have a great working relationship with the senior colleagues.
