The Role
I feel I learned a lot of useful skills from my placement and pushed myself harder than I thought I could
I felt my colleagues really appreciated the work I was doing and that they valued my skillset
My team were very supportive and willing to help me whenever I needed it
I always had various pieces of work to jump between which kept me busy and meant I was never bored
I was given a lot of responsibility and was allowed to work on some important pieces
I feel I have learned a lot about myself and the skills I can offer to future employers
The Company
Everyone was helpful and I felt I could speak to anyone, regardless of their role in the office
I felt that my team had a clear idea of what they wanted me to achieve during my placement
The team gave me a lot of responsibility and spent a lot of time training me in how to write using the house style guide
Working from home
I would gladly work with Arup again and feel that they were positive about getting me back to do more work perhaps next summer
The Culture
I didnt really socialise with people I worked with but I didnt have an issue with this. There were social events while I was there, I didnt attend them though
As the office is in the city centre, there were plenty of options for food and drinks
Its Glasgow - of course it's great!
Yep, plenty opportunity to socialise
