The Role
The team hosted me very well, all people in the team take take to explain what their doing, they also permit me to discover the tourism activities in the city The manager introduce me to the team at the beginning, and took care of all the documents that I need for the internship
All the team help me when I need, and make me participate as them, Their all took care of me even for the lunch time. They always help me for understand some word that I don't know, or techniques that I don't know. They also explained me how their jobs are for and how it work
All the requirement is explained to me at the begining, and also the induction that I needed to do with the transport specifications and the shedule for the induction center that is checked with me, my manager give me all the document that I need for understand the organisation chart and who doing all the part.
For the first part, I have a order clear and I can work on that, the team was available when I need to checked with them my job, after, I finish the main topic, they give me little task but that correct and the last week was little bored because I have not a lot of things to do and I can't help for the team's job
I don't have a lot of responsibility but I think that normal, because I wasn't used to be in engineering center, so I don't know how to manage their documents and I don't have much experiences for review documents too. So the responsibility were me given as good for my point of view
I was send here to make something usefull for the team and for me the goal is to discover the job in the center of engineering, because I work in a power station, so I don't know the job done before the commission of a power station and my second goal is also to improve my english so be emerged in uk during two month have helped me a lot for that
The Company
The general atmosphere was great, the open space office was a new experience for me, and the building was very modern so that help me to feel better. They are sone noise cause of the open space but is not really stressful, and that permit me also to improve my language
from my point of view the internship was organised as well because all the documents I needed and edf needed were filled before the internship started. I don't put 10 just because all the information about the drug and alcohol test was not really clear (about if I need to do it or not)
I have a induction about the HPC project and also a computer for working. But that not only the helped that I have receive because the team helped me a lot for improve my skills too and also my knowledge about the function of the country because that a lot a difference with my origin contry
I can't answer to this question because I have already a contract with the holding edf sa, I am apprentice in my main company, I I just come in the subsidiary nnb genco for 2 month for the internship that I have to do for the my school in my country
The Culture
Yes that helped me to understand the organisation of the country and the cultural knowledge and also the courses that my colleagues have to to do this job, I dont have the same education system in my origin country so I can now make the difference between my studies and the uk studies
I found the accommodation prices very expensive, because that cost me more than my two accomodation in my origin contry ( one near my school and one near my job ) so because I have during the internship 3 rent in the same time, it was hard for the this periode
They are a lot of shop open during the night and also club and bar so the night life was very good
The city is big so their are a lot of activities to do outside of work, the city have a lot of tourism, sport club with some of them involved with the company so that really great for that, their are also sone good place and a lot of thing to do not really far from the office
