About You
I enjoyed this insight at E.ON UK very much as it was much different to the other insights i had been to in the past. I was treated like an employee and not just a student on work experience. I got a good insight into E.ON UK and how they operate to on day to day basis.
I felt valued the whole time i was there, there was never a time were I felt bored or was not using my time well. We got a good insight into the key departments of E.ON and the range of roles available. E.ON involved us as much as they could so we get a good understanding on how they operate.
There was plenty of support offered throughout the program and after. We were offered contact details if we ever had any questions to ask them. We were allowed to ask any question we wanted to which meant we got to know employees as an individual. We got to know their backgrounds and how they got to where they are now.
I developed many of my skills and I was able to improve on skills that i thought that didn't need improving. The people i met on the insight gave me advice and guidance on how i could further my career path. My interview and CV skills were improved and now I know what I can work on.
The Company
The insight was structured very well. We were given a plan on what we were going to do the entire week on the first day we arrived. There was plenty of breaks in between every activity we did. There was structure to everything we did and there was never a time where I wasn't sure what to do.
Very uplifting and fun. I learnt a lot on this insight but also had fun at the same time. The interactive games we played with the employees made the tasks fun and educational at the same time. Not only was this atmosphere portrayed on the insight but also within the company and employees.
I had one to ones with several of the employees at E.ON. They listened to me and gave me advice and guidance. They gave me very useful advice on personal development and were very friendly and welcoming. furthermore, we were able to learn about the employees as well and what they're personal journey was.
By the end of the insight week, I felt like I was an employee of E.ON. It really helped me understand what it is like to be an employee of E.ON. My initial perception of working for a massive company had been proven wrong once I came to E.ON UK.
Company culture is one of E.ON's core values and they made sure that this was portrayed onto us. E.ON has great company culture which every employee goes by every day. They understand that have a good company culture is one of the big successes of any business in an industry.
the content was very useful as it helped me understand what industry I wanted to pursue a career in. The insight showed me a wide variety of roles available in every industry. Coming to this insight has helped me decide that I want to work for E.ON or a company just as good as E.ON.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for travel
Yes, there was plenty of opportunities to meet other employees from different departments. We got an insight into what their role involves and what they do on a day to day basis. We also met the CEO of E.ON UK and we were able to ask him questions about himself and his thoughts on current issues.
the networking and social events were good. we met a lot of employees and were able to communicate with them. We learnt about their roles and what their roles involve. We were able to network over 40 employees over the week and were introduced to another event coming up soon.
Yes, many of the employees are sent to Germany where E.ON also operate. This helps them understand how the german market operates and what they can learn from it. They also get to travel around the UK and help out other departments based across the UK. E.ON also has days were employees volunteer and help out local communities and charities.
100% recommend this to anyone. The best work experience insight I have ever been on. I wish I knew about this when I felt school at 16 as it would have really helped me choose a career. This has been an experience that I will never forget. I had made some great connections over the week.
