    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall very much so. I was given many different taks to perform which made it very interesting

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was only a summer placement student but was given as much as possible to do and everything I did was helpful to the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Any questions I had they would answer straight away. My supervisor would also regularly come and check on me

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always had things to do and was not rushed with deadlines or getting more work done, was all just about learning.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I produced work in which the team would make their designs off of but it was all checked like all work is.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Many life experience skills were gained which I would not have learned at university which will make the transition to full time work much easier

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Lots of hard work going on but had lots of social time at lunch.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised, I turned up and my supervisor had things for me to do for the day.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They taught me a few things but mostly I was helping them out with tasks I could already complete with a little assistance and independent learning so they would have less work to complete.

  • Very much so. Is an extremely prestigious company with lots of projects.

  • A couple of younger people, more social at lunch.
