The Role
Great internship programme. Managers very supportive and enthusiastic in helping you succeed. Opportunity to work on projects with global scale. Plenty of events and training schemes helping you grow. Firm has culture of excellence, with everyone working together to always achieve the best results possible for the business and for clients. Would thoroughly recommend for ambitious students.
Worked with very smart, enthusiastic and kind people, including interns from other offices beyond the UK. Everyone respected each other and made an effort to make sure all voices were heard, helping us make more balanced decisions. Lots of opportunities to grow and learn from each other on a peer to peer basis.
Managers and supervisors were always very supportive, taking lots of time to make sure interns were not stuck or left behind. Also helped to arrange shadowing sessions to offer broader exposure to the business. Great at sharing advice and connecting us to people who can share specialist experience from specific areas. Senior management team also very interested in intern work, and you might get to present to them!
Lots of work to do! But good positive culture where managers don't expect you to stay in the office beyond your contract hours, and all the work was meaningful, so if interns stay later that's because you're enthusiastic about getting something to work before heading off. You'll never feel bored, and it's all very fulfilling.
On my team, interns got the chance to really take ownership of entire projects, or parts of bigger projects. Furthermore, we got to work closely with our clients, which reassured us that our work was valuable and creating a positive impact for the firm, so that added extra responsibility but also made the work much more fulfilling.
Lots of opportunities for training etc. Interns are given plenty of creative freedom in creating new projects using the latest industry processes, so you can learn new skills which are current and relevant. There could be some opportunities for more formal technical mentorship programmes to make sure the work you're producing is always of the highest quality, but there are plenty of people to turn to for advice throughout anyway and everyone is always motivated to deliver excellent results for our firm and clients.
The Company
Everyone on the floor happy, enthusiastic and supportive. Could be some more opportunities for e.g. team lunches / socials. However, there are plenty of social events for interns across lines of business, so the culture is great in that respect. Even though people are quite busy, they're always approachable for advice and guidance.
Campus recruitment team are very organised. Always respond quickly to questions, and work hard to keep you informed of events and deadlines throughout your internship. They also have drop-in sessions where you can ask questions. Socials and all intern events are also well organised, providing a very smooth overall programme experience.
Manager was very supportive of interns attending workshops and talks to learn wider skills. Firm also has lots of resources such as online courses to help you improve. Lots of events for example Innovative Week help inspire a culture of investing in skills and growing as a professional. Every day you learn something new!

Firm has lots of excellent opportunities at the internship, placement and grad scheme levels. Was excited to have been invited back to work with them in the future. Company is also growing and innovating, so definitely an exciting time to join and build a career here. Firm is well-respected and rightly so!
The Culture
Intern socials were well organised, across lines of business. Also, interns often organised their own informal social activities, e.g. tennis. Would be good to connect a bit more with some of the grad analysts through team lunches etc, but amongst interns the social scene is enjoyable and gives rise to networking opportunities. Also, there is a mentor programme where you can be assigned a mentor who was in your shoes a year or two ago!
London is naturally expensive. However, firm is happy to pay for travel. Canteen food is high quality and not very expensive. Lots of options nearby during lunch too. Also, it's easy to go socialise some place else in London if you organise a get-together informally with other interns. Definitely worth it!
Lots of things to go! The clubs used for the internship socials are great as well.
Quite a few things going on in terms of sports etc. What would be good is maybe an "activities fair" where interns can go and sign up to things. Nevertheless, definitely enough going on to keep you happy! For example, there is a Corporate Responsibility Day where you go and do charity work alongside other interns - good fun and very worthwhile!
