About You
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet people and make connections within the business world, however I was not entirely interested in the energy side.
the people I was surrounded by made me feel welcome and valued. the ice breakers at the beginning of the week also helped me get to know the other young poeple.
I received the most support on Tuesday, when we did 1 on 1 interview techniques and cv building, which really helped me and my search for a job
I am not studying at a degree level, and I didn't drastically improve any of my skills, because they were already developed.
The Company
there was a clear layout for each day, which was easy to follow.
The atmosphere was very pleasant and comfortable to be around
the only thing that helped me was the cv and interview skills
The insight I was given by the helpers made me understand the depth and pressure of what having a fulltime job would be like.
The insight helped me learn about how companies work day to day and what it would be like in a full time role and who I would be surrounded by.
The content helped me make mental choices on what career paths I am interested, and what I am not. Even though I realised I wasn't necessarily interested in energy, I am glad I had the experience to figure that out.
Everything Else
With 6 weeks I was reimbursed expense that were used travelling to the event.
I made multiple connections within the firm that broadened my communication aspects with people in the business world, like the CEO of the company.
The social opportunities were good as I was surrounded by people my age and older that were also interested in gaining experience into the working life.
Yes I found out that many opportunities such as volunteering and work experience were available to me due to the connections I made.
Yes i would as I believe it is important to have the insight that I gained at a real company as many people my age don't necessarily know what a real working day is like. I also think it's important to establish business connections for the future.
