The Role
Great company culture which fosters collaboration and innovation.
I felt as though I was making a genuine contribution to the firm's strategic direction.
My manager was very good at providing explanation when needed while allowing me the capacity to work autonomously.
As deadlines approached, there was plenty of work to go around. There were one or two days in which I was struggling to find things to do, but in that case I asked my manager for more and they were happy to include me in other projects of theirs.
I was trusted with leading and taking ownership of projects and doing very important work autonomously in the face of important deadlines.
It was wonderful to put my degree studies into real world context. I learned lots of skills regarding communication and coordination, leadership, and problem solving.
The Company
My department was very serious when busy, but when there was downtime, everyone was very friendly and chatty.
Everything was well organised, but the preparedness of work available to the interns varies from team to team and manager to manager. So one intern might have had a schedule planned out of what projects to work on each week, where as another intern might have been left to their own devices to find enough work to do.
They gave us plenty of training sessions and the tacit knowledge which we gained from being integrated into the firm's important work was very useful.

I'm excited to come back to the company after I finish Uni.
The Culture
The group of interns became very close friends. We ate lunch together every day and would often socialize outside of work.
It was more expensive during the month of the August as the city had a festival and all of the prices were raised, but aside from that one month, the city has a relatively low cost of living.
The interns had a few socials at the festival and enjoying the nightlife.
The city has plenty of opportunities for enthusiasts of all areas.
