The Role
It was the most enjoyable work experience I have had.
My colleagues at Arup were the nicest bunch of people I have ever got to work with. The entire organisation is highly diverse and has a very inclusive and happy work culture.
The entire team was very approachable and helpful. Whenever I needed anything there would be someone there to guide me.
I had a busy schedule with a 70% of the time being spent on working on interesting projects and the remaining 30% of the time socialising with different people from the organisation in forms of talks, lunch talks and coffee talks.
A very well balanced. Enough to make me feel like the work I was doing was meaningful and I was directly contributing to the team and projects. But not enough where I had to stay in late to meet the deadlines. I was asked by my managers to have a good balance of work to social life.
Directly helped my dissertation research. I was also given the opportunity to come in a few months to get further help on my research from my team.
The Company
The happiest company I have ever worked in!!!
Very well organised.
I was given the opportunity to choose which areas I wanted to work in and was given the projects accordingly.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
I will definitely keep this organisation on the top of my list of companies I want to work for in the future.
The Culture
A lot of social actirvities. In my 8 weeks of placements, I got to attned several lunches, after work drinks, lunch and after work talks, annual summer party, team out days and played weekly football.
There was a lot of variety to chose from, so there was always something for someone.
Arup has countless opportunities for their staff to engage in.
