The Role
I've had a great time over the past 10 weeks. It has been an immensely eye-opening experience in terms of the exposure to live projects, meeting fascinating people as well as working with them and also developing key soft skills needed no matter what career you choose.
The Aviation Advisory Team at Arup were very welcoming. They were supportive of my work and ensured to guide me when I was struggling with tasks.
My team leads were very supportive of my work. They ensured I had enough work to keep me busy and guided me through tasks. Catch-up calls/ meetings also took place ensuring that I was headed in the right direction.
Some days were quieter and others were packed with work which had to be delivered in a short space of time.
I am grateful for the opportunity provided to me over the past 10 weeks. I did not expect to work on live projects with such importance. The responsibility that came with these projects was high.
I developed a wide range of skills: technical, communication, teamwork and networking all of which will be very useful in both university and my future career.
The Company
Very friendly, fun, relaxed, supportive.
Projects I worked were arranged before I started my internship however I did not find out about my internship placement until a week before I started.
Company Parties/Events
My team were very encouraging of me to come back and work with them in the future.
