The Role
I loved every minute of my placement. The company has great values and truly cares about its employees. So many opportunities and variation in projects and tasks meant that I learned more than I could ever have expected.
Working at Arup was made so much easier by the welcoming and friendly colleagues. Every is willing to help and have the best work ethic. Everyone looks out for each other and lends a helping hand where needed.
The support from the management team was incredible and I couldn't have done it without them. When times got tough, they were always there to offer the best solution for me and helped in every way possible in my recovery.
Never a dull moment and I was non-stop for 12 months!
I had various roles of responsibility during my placement as more and more trust was given to me. If you prove you have a good work ethic and create quality work, the opportunities are endless!
The skills and techniques I've developed are invaluable. My university studies will be considerably easier to manage after gaining experience with such a successful company.
The Company
Everybody had the right balance between focus on work output and efficiency as well as taking time to reset and socialise together.
Organisation was superb. The year placement scheme is systematically understood by all staff and assisted by all colleagues to be as smooth and welcoming as possible.
The opportunities to attend further training and official courses were endless. Arup believe in investing in its colleagues development in order for the company to also develop as much as possible.

The Culture
All colleagues no matter of grade or level in the company socialised both within work and outside.
Fairly matched to the earnings I was making.
There's plenty of that's what you're interested in!
Endless opportunities from all sporting and non-sporting activities and chances to start up clubs and socials yourself if nothing existing takes your fancy.
