The Role
This is honestly the perfect placement and future job role for me. It perfectly fits my ongoing passion for technology and working at intel has essentialy felt like a hobby rather than a job.
My colleuage are are veyr nice, warm and welcoming people. Always ensuring that I am coping ok, making sure i always have enough to do. They are regularly giving me feedback positive and critical so I can beeter myself throughout the placement experince
Within my team I am given a mentor who I meet with once every two weeks. This has been a great tool as it has taught me to manage my time, office politics and other essential parts of the job which are not nescessarily taught in trainings. I also meet with my manager every 2 weeks which allows me to feedback to him what I have and will be working on.
At the start fo the placement things were quite slow. Often I had to ask for somthing to do as i did not have much responsibilty. Now 6 months into the internship I am very busy.... but I like this. I enjoy being challenged and having many deadlines to meet.
Again at the start of the internship i was not given much responsibility as I was still learning the ropes, so to speak. Now however, I am the EMEA techical owner for and array of products and regularly involved by other team to give trainings. I feel the role has given me a large amount of responsibility without being too much. I really like this about Intel, they are very flexible with the amount of work you like to take on.
With regard to technial skills I can use at university the placement has not really enriched what I already know. This is mainly due to me being a software based graduate but my job role mainly focussing on hardware. However the placement has toaught me so many invaluable skills, time management, customer orientation, presentation skills, inter-personal skills, confrotation management. It has also inspired me to carry on learning whatever I do. Before coming to intel I felt i was very good at my degree. However within a couple of weeks I found this to be false, many people are better than me, miles ahead. This is not a bad thing, it has driven me to learn and become far better than before.
The Company
My team were great in this area, they were always up for a laugh and talkative. However when serious business had to be completed they were of the had the highest standard of professionalism. A perfect balance
My internship in essence was very well planned and thought out. However, the hand over from the previous intern let many questions un-answered. I also had to change mentor early on as my original mentor was leaving due to family difficulties.
Intel goes above and beyond in this segment. They have litterally hundreds of opportunities to imporve your soft skills and for me the same for technical skills. My manager encouraged me to take on some of these courses to improve certain aspects.

I genuinely would love to be employed by Intel as a graduate. I really feel like I fit within the company and it is large enough that I would hopefully never get bored. The whole atmosphere around Intel is fantastic. Casual yet professional.
The Culture
I cannot really rate this as I was not really a part of the social scene... apologiese.
I didnt live locally actually around 70 miles away :)
Didnt go out. Lived too far away.
I recieved endless mails from the "great place to work" team about comapny outings and social event. I personally did not attend many of these but the option is deffinitely there.
