The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I felt like I learnt a great amount, met great people which widened my networking circle and broaden my real estate knowledge.
I felt like I was adding value to my team with the work that I was carrying out. I was praised and thanked for the work I completed and therefore felt like I was effectively helping the team. The team were very welcoming and made me feel very much part of the business.
My supervisor was very supportive and would help me for long amounts of time to understand something about the business or a task I was carrying out. I felt like I could ask any question and the team would happily answer it.
There were busy and quieter days, but this was very much expected as summer can be a quiet point in the year for the business, especially for my team (investment valuation). However, I always had a task to get on with, I was never sat twiddling my thumbs!
I felt like I was given an adequate amount of responsibility during my placement, I would have maybe wanted more but I understood at my level this wasn't always possible.
Very much so. After doing the internship, so much more of my studies made sense. Everything I had learnt at university was put in to action. Doing the work practically very much solidified my theoretical knowledge.
The Company
Very buzzy! The team all got on very well, however when there was work to be done there would be more silence throughout the office.
The internship was well organised. There were multiple talks put on throughout the four weeks. It would have been nice for there to be more networking opportunities with people around the business.

I would love to work for CBRE, it has always been a dream of mine and the internship made this very much clear to me.
The Culture
The fellow interns got on very well, this was helped by the group projects, as we were made to work with random people from the scheme. There were also drinks organised and the final intern bbq which was great fun! Maybe something mid-way through the internship would have helped as the final evening we all had such fun together, however sadly it was the end of the internship.
The cost of living in the area was very high and unfortunately my travel was rather expensive. However, the internship was worth the money spent as the experiences and relationships I made were invaluable.
Great - lots of pubs and bars nearby.
I would have loved to get more involved in the sport played within the company. However, there were other social events for example company tickets to the cricket, tickets to the British Beer Festival and a team trip to Cambridge.
