The Role
I found the work really rewarding as I was given valuable tasks from day one. I felt extremely welcomed by my team and respected as an individual even though I had no prior experience. I was genuinely sad to leave my team at the end of the placement and look forward to returning to Accenture in the future.
During the welcome week I immediately felt welcomed and included by my colleagues when we undertook the training sessions and tasks. This was only further when I joined my project team, who gave me a high level of responsibility from day one and always included me in discussions and meetings.
My manager was very approachable and I could always arrange a meeting with him if I felt I needed to discuss any issues or concerns. He was always open to hearing my new ideas and let me undertake a side project of my own that I came up with, which I then presented back to the team.
I was always given work to do that would be useful to the team. I was never given any ‘intern’ style jobs such as making tea and coffee - it was always work that would have been done by someone else in the team if I wasn’t there. This made me feel like a valued member of the team.
I was given responsibility from the start and this only increased throughout my internship as I acquired more experience and technical knowledge. I was able to research about a topic unknown to many in the team and then give a presentation to them about it. After this my manager directed all queries on this topic to me.
I gained a lot of confidence as well as time management, presentation and leadership skills while on the internship. These are all useful in every day life and will definitely help me in both my degree and my future career, in which I will be starting at Accenture after this fantastic experience.
The Company
Everyone was always very welcoming and friendly. There was a good support system in place if I ever needed help. All my colleagues were very relaxed and accommodating to me which made me feel at ease instantly. We often went out to social events in the evening which made me feel even more part of the team.
Everything was organised when I arrived. I had already been given all the joining information in good time and had a contact to ask any questions before I started. My project started as soon as I was available and lasted for the maximum time possible. Overall I have no complaints.
There was an extensive training week at the beginning of the internship which I found very useful. This taught us skills that would benefit us in both our degree and in any field we chose to work in. There were also many optional courses that we were able to tale to further our understanding of different areas.

I have been offered a full time role at Accenture and have accepted it to start when I finish my degree. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and can not think of a company I would rather work for as they have the drive and competition I desire while having a welcoming and friendly work culture.
The Culture
The company provided some nights out that were already organised and paid for. In addition some interns organised their own events to socialise throughout the time we were there. In addition I went out a few times with my colleagues from my project. Overall it was very sociable and you were never stuck for people to meet up with.
It was quite expensive as it was in central London. I had to commute over an hour everyday but that was my choice so I didn’t have to pay for accommodation as I could stay with family. A reasonable amount of money was provided in addition to regular pay to contribute towards accommodation.
Working in London there were endless opportunities to go out. There were many bars, clubs and sports areas that were easily accessible to us and we could make use of. This enabled for an exciting and varied social experience during the internship and allowed me to spend more time with colleagues and fellow interns.
As we were in central London there were all the facilities you could need. Accenture has some company sports clubs set up which you could join, or you could be a part of some other clubs depending on your hobbies and what you enjoy. There was a wide range of opportunities.
