The Role
I had the most fantastic ten weeks with Accenture as a summer analyst. It was an absolute privilege to work for Accenture over the duration of the summer. I was lucky enough to both meet and work with some incredible peple throughout the duration of my internship. Going from university to working for Accenture over the summer meant I was able to grow both professionally and personally.
As an intern you are immediately considered part of the team - and labelled as an analyst. At no point was I was expected to run errands or pick up tea and coffee. I was given great exposure and immediately invited to team drinks and meals. At Accenture your input is value regardless of your age or level.
I was extremely supported by both my manager, Human Resources and my fellow team members. I was told no question was a silly question. I ever made an error I was given a help in hand and was never made to feel any less valuable.
I became increasingly busier as I progressed throughout my internship. Taking on side of desk work meant I was kept increasingly busy - something which I very much enjoyed.
I was given high levels of responsibility. Once I was trained, I was reporting data on a daily basis directly to the client. I was seen as a member of the team and my level of responsibility reflected that.
My skills within Excel, communication and time management will be taken with me on my return to University.
The Company
The office in general was relaxed and friendly. However I was lucky enough to be based in the head office so the atmosphere will vary office to office - particularly on client site.
The first week was purely induction. This was incredibly well organised and meant as interns we were all relaxed and prepared for our projects. Once on project your roll and placement will be dependent on your project. Mine was on balance organised. However, the project changed dramatically during the internship and my role adapted to these changes.
I felt and still feel incredibly valued by Accenture. Small touches such as a good luck for your examination package (prior to starting at Accenture) made me feel incredibly at ease. As an intern you are trained in excel and have access to all the benefits of an Accenture employee.

Working from home
I am incredibly excited to return to Accenture after completing my degree.
The Culture
My team were relatively social and I made some friends during my placement.
Working in the city is incredibly expensive. However there are deals and apps which help out a lot. You just have to be savvy.
The pubs and bars are fun, however I was never tempted to go out late in the City of London.
Accenture has a range of sports clubs, coding clubs etc which are all great ways to expand your network and meet friends.
