Software Engineering Intern Review

I really liked everything, from the work I had to do and the guidance I got, as well as the team I was in. I wish I had more time for my internship, but it was a great experience and I am looking forward to my next internship at the company.

I felt very valued in my team, the meetings we had 3 times a week were especially good, because I got the chance to present my work to the team as if I were there since forever and I could talk to them about anything without feeling out of place.

I was given some guidance by my mentor, but he had a different approach than the conventional one. He guided me in terms if what I had to do especially in the beginning and whenever I had questions, but he let me make my own mistakes and learn from them, which I think was a good experience.

I was usually not too busy, not too bored or relaxed. I always had something to work on or something to improve, which kept me busy all the time. Sometimes I would get stuck on something and the people I could ask for advice were busy, but other than that it was pretty balanced.

Considering this was my first internship, I wasn't given too much responsibility but not too little either. I was new to the technology as well, so I think the level was perfect for me. I had a learning period as well, so I think they gave me just enough for what I could handle.

My skills developed a lot during the internship. I had some experience from projects before, but I feel more confident about everything after having experienced with more such things. I think that what I learned will be valuable for me in the future, both in my degree and future internships.

The general atmosphere was always nice, everybody was friendly and approachable.

At the beginning I was a bit on my own because I joined late because of my exams. I missed some inductions and not very much was done to give me all the information I needed for the internship. However, my manager presented the overall project to me and I settled in well in the end.

They always offered opportunities to learn, I had training to do on a weekly basis and I could also attend any workshop that I thought would be useful. I also had a lot of opportunities to learn about the technology there and about other lines of businesses as well. I thought between work and training, the balance was good.

I got another internship at the company, so I'm really happy about that. They offer mobility once you go in the graduate programme as well, so I'm excited for next summer and the year after that to see what they offer. I'm looking forward to the next collaborations with them.

I used to have lunch with many other interns at the company, we were all really close. We also used to meet in our free time for a chat or to visit different things. Moreover, I am still talking to some of the people I met at my internship and we are making plans to meet again.

I didn't live exactly in the area I worked in, but it was close. The price there was pretty cheap, but there was not too much socialising to do around there. However, near the workplace, there were a lot of places to go to and I used to walk there for them.

The nightlife wasn't that good, there were some bars that were open late, but not much was going on around. You had to go a bit more into the central area for a better nightlife.

There were some bars and a lot of restaurants around. There was also a mall under the company, which had pretty much everything you needed. That area was mostly made of companies, so besides shops and restaurants, there wasn't that much going on around there. You had to go in the central area for more like this.
