About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. The career inspiration week gave me the opportunity to experience and learn about many different jobs and fields within the energy industry. Before it, I wasn’t aware of such jobs such as energy trading. We were provided breakfast and lunch and well as goody bags, which was fantastic.
I felt very valued. There wasn’t many people so I could get the attention I needed when asking questions. We were given lunch and breakfast, as well as goody bags with obscure gifts such as a torch, portable charger and and MP3 player. I really liked the building we we’re in the too, it was modern and clean.
If I had any questions I could easily ask one of the supervisors or people coming in to talk to us about their job. Each job was explained in detail and let us take part in interactive, fun games and activities to further educate our knowledge. They gave me the support I needed.
I had gained a lot of knowledge from the different people that came in to talk to us. I now have an interest in trading and the experience has consolidated the prospect of me doing maths at university. After university I would love to work for E.ON because I think they are a very reputable company
The Company
The insight was very well structured. There was a clear outline of how the week will go. On the first day we were given a plan of the week ahead. This meant every night I could see what sort of activities we will be doing the following day, so I could have questions prepared.
The general atmosphere wasn’t very nice and friendly. People were willing to chat to me and start a conversation. I met new friends and met people who I wouldn’t have otherwise spoken to in the real world. All the staff who came to talk to us were very friendly and helpful.
The company eon invested a lot of time into allowing me and other candidates to fully understand how each job works at eon and what we can do in order to gain a degree apprenticeship with eon. The career inspiration week helped me develop my confidence and Cv and interview skills.
The insight allowed me to gain a big understanding about what kind of company eon is. This was through the background information eon told us and the staff that came to speak to us. They could have told us more about the working life at eon and what kind of benefited employers get.
The career inspiration week at eon gave me a huge insight into understanding the companies culture. This is because I got to talk to the staff and the supervisors. Also I saw the eon building in Coventry as well as the aims and objectives of the business. Eon gave me good vibes.
The content of the day at the career inspiration week at eon helped me a bit in deciding on my future career. More so, it madness me aware of possible jobs, however I don’t think I have been swayed to change what I am already planning to do at university and beyond
Everything Else
I was paid for my expenses. This was an easy process at eon. They emailed and gave us a form with travel expenses on. We had to go home and fill it in with the correct travel prices on, with profit of travel for example bus tickets, and then hand it back in.

I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend because firstly, we had lunch breakfast and travel expenses covered. Secondly it was a good way to meet new people and thirdly I learnt so many new skills such as how to present or how to write a good CV and do a good interview.
