The Role
I have really enjoyed it. Intel gives Interns real responsibility and chances to drive business value on numerous projects. Add to this the great social environment the company has and free gym. The only bad bit is the location.
To an extent. Working in a geographically dispersed team has its challenges; however i feel it requires more trust and communication than a face to face team.
You are given an on the job coach (mostly a senior member of your team) and a buddy (normally a graduate) who can offer as much or as little advise as you would like. You also get regular 1:1 time with you Manager on progress and development.
It varied from week to week, as the job is so project based. Some weeks I would finish at 3.30pm, other weeks I wouldn’t finish until 8pm.
For an Intern, lots. I have been in sole control of a multi-million $ budget, Sales incentives and Marketing Program's with Dell and a Intel micro-website on Dell.co.uk
Intel offer lots of training courses (all paid for) for all areas/stages of development. As well as compulsory new hire training, popular courses amongst Interns include Presentation Skills, Advanced Excel and Effective Communication.
The Company
Varied from day to day as i was sat in the Sales & Marketing Office. As many of them work from home or are on the road, one day you can have 3 people in the office and another you can have 25.
Very Organised and there is always someone to help.
Intel invest a lot of time in developing Interns, through trainings and talks.

Within Operations and Finance future employment is high. Within Sales and Marketing it is very rare to be hired back as a graduate.
The Culture
With 60 students there is always someone to go out with and do something. Only shame is, its in Swindon and the nightlife isnt great
Rent is around £300 per person per month Cost of socialising isnt expensive but not cheap.
Poor. Worst part of the placement
Lots of trips to music/sports events and you can easily get involved in a whole range of sports.
