The Role
I have really enjoyed the internship. Throughout the 9 weeks I have learnt a lot and developed many useful skills. I was working on many interesting projects which allowed to gain bigger exposure, responsibility and a better understanding of the industry. The colleagues were very helpful and explained everything at the beginning.
I felt valued by my colleagues in the team. They were very helpful, especially during the first weeks when I needed a lot of help and explanation of many tasks I was assigned. Everyone was treated equal and even though I was just an intern my opinion was takin into account.
I was given support. At the beginning we were set objectives and deliverables and throughout the internship we received help and support to achieve them. The manager made sure we do not work too late every day and assigned work given our current workload. I was given guidance and career advice.
The workload varied from day to day but in general I was busy. Importantly the work was very rewarding and I learnt a lot. The manager made sure we do not work too late hours and assigned tasks given our current workload. The friendly atmosphere in the team made the work much more bearable.
I was given quite big responsibility given that this was just a two months internship. I was working side by side with other analysts on big projects in Europe. This allowed to get bigger exposure and better understanding of the projects they were involved in and the industry as a whole.
I have developed a number of skills throughout the internship. This is through the extensive training provided but also through working with more experienced colleagues. I got to see the practical application of the knowledge I gained at university. I am sure that all the skills still be necessary for my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good and everyone was very helpful. If I had a problem I would always have someone to help me and explain the issue. I was treated equal with others and my opinion was also heard and considered. I enjoyed working with the team and it was a a great 9 weeks there.
It was set up very well. The first week was dedicated to training which was a great opportunity to learn a lot. Throughout the i get ship we were offered many training sessions and events. We were set objectives at the begining and given tools to be able to achieve them by the end.
We were provided with a lot of training. The whole first week was training. Then throughout the internship there were lots of training sessions and events. Apart from that colleagues in the team were also very helpful and we could learn a lot from their experience. They explained everything patiently.
Company Parties/Events
The internship offered the opportunity to convert to a graduate programme. It is a great way to find out through the internship if this is a career for you and if you were good to be offered a job for after graduation. I think this is really rewarding and gives additional motivation to perform well during the internship.
The Culture
There was a very good atmosphere between the interns. Everyone was very positive and ready to help. There was no sense of competition even though everyone wanted to get an offer for the graduate programme. I have made very good friends throughout the internship and am happy I got to meet so many students from international universities.
The cost of living in this area was expensive. It is one of the most expensive areas in London.
There were not many opportunities to get involved outside of work. The internship was very much work focused.
