The Role
Really enjoying it. The company is great and the socials are brilliant.
Very valued by my colleagues. Everyone is welcoming and gives praise to good work that you are doing. There are monthly 'I'm Valued' awards that allow people to vote others that have done exemplary work.
Lots of support and guidance throughout. There are a lot of mandatory trainings and many extra courses that you are able to take on in order to better yourself. The weekly one-on-ones with my line manager also helps me voice any concerns and allow me to request projects that I would be keen to help on.
This is very dependent on how many projects have been commissioned. On your average day, there's enough work to get you through from 9-5. There can be occasions that you have little to do but there is always a project round the corner.
There is a lot of chances for you to take on a responsible role but throughout you are monitored so you never feel completely left to your own devices. Regarding the social aspect, myself and a colleague from my department were able to plan, book and confirm our department Christmas party so in that sense, we were given a lot of responsibility.
Lots of technical and research skills have been picked up. I feel like my communication skills within a business environment has vastly improved. I am able to work within tight deadlines and adapt to these types of pressures.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is a very chilled out but serious work environment. Everyone is welcoming and you can always hear, in the distance, a team singing happy birthday to someone.
It was a well organised set up although I think that the first couple weeks were a bit slow. I appreciate that the employers did not want to swamp us with a weeks full of trainings as it may all be forgotten the minute we finish for the week.
A lot. We had many mandatory trainings and a lot of optional trainings to take part in that ranged from research skills, financial planning, personal development and talks from external speakers.

Very appealing, the company is wonderful and the options and company perks they offer make this an even better company to work for.
The Culture
There is a good social scene amongst the placement students and colleagues. There are events tailored specifically for early careers employees. There are also a lot of team and department socials throughout the year. There is also a department Christmas party, early careers Christmas party and a whole company Christmas party/
The normal cost of living in London - expensive.
Really good, quite a central location and therefore many transport links to get to places. A lot of the socials were based in Shoreditch which is a short trip on the tube from the offices.
We are each given two Responding Responsibly (RR) days and two curiosity days. The RR days are for you to get involved in charity work. There are many opportunities to get involved, whether it be with other colleagues or by yourself. The curiosity day is for you to develop your skills and help broaden your horizons.
