About You
The Insight was so much fun with a mixture of Q&As, group activities and seminars. There was plenty of opportunity to meet graduates from different academic backgrounds and experience the culture at M&G which is really inclusive. The trading rounds were probably the highlight of the day, it was a great way to get everyone involved and experience fund management first hand.
Something that really stood out to me was that no matter who you were or what your academic background was, everyone was treated like part of M&G's team. I felt incredibly valued and they made such a massive effort making sure that everyone received the information and help that they needed.
The support was amazing over the course of the entire day. I had so many questions to ask when I arrived and these were all answered with enthusiasm by the team at M&G. The graduates on the scheme were also incredibly helpful and there were plenty of opportunities to speak to the panel.
The day definitely cemented my determination to work in Fund Management, something that I had very little knowledge about initially. In addition to this, the networking event during lunch enabled me to connect with professionals from all walks of life, many of whom have offered to provide future support and advice when needs be.
The Company
The day was well structured. Between talks from various professionals at M&G, panel Q&As and trading rounds, I felt that so much was covered during the course of the day with plenty of time to network during the breaks. Lunch did however feel a little short, especially when so many of us were keen to talk with the M&G graduates about their experiences.
Friendly, fun and inclusive. I was so nervous to come to M&G and experience a day in the life but every person there was so welcoming and happy to help answer any questions (no matter how silly they seemed to be). It was also great to socialise with everyone during the trading exercises, giving us a good balance of fun interactive activities and informative talks.
Because there was so much information to cover over the course of just one day it was hard to see exactly what a full time role would be like with the company. In spite of this however, it was a great insight into M&Gs inclusive culture and I would definitely recommend the day.
I was so unsure about what I wanted to do with my career initially but found that the insight day helped me to determine my strengths and weaknesses. The trading exercise was a lot of fun and gave me an insight into fund management which is definitely something that i'm now considering.
Everything Else
There were so many opportunities to network and meet other employees at M&G. Every single break we had the opportunity to meet graduates at M&G and also senior members of the company who were on hand to answer our questions. In addition to this, the Q&A panel was extremely helpful.
The day was a lot more focussed on fund management and the culture at M&G and less so on the activities that employees can get involved with outside of work. We were given a talk by the Tech team which briefly delved into this but generally speaking, this wasn't discussed in too much detail.
Yes. I had such a fun time and met so many lovely people who were happy to help and answer any questions or queries I had about both the company and industry. It's also a great way to get to know the culture at M&G and find out about the graduate schemes offered.
