Summer Management Intern Review

Working at ERAC over summer was incredibly enjoyable as everyone you work with could not be any nicer and helpful when you start - the job itself could sometimes be challenging and difficult but with the help of your colleagues you get through it and have fun along the way.

Every day at Enterprise you feel valued for your contribution to the company. Management are always giving praise when you have done something well, and are there to support you when you feel like you are lacking in a certain area. Everyone works amazing as a team, supporting each other to achieve the best.

Constant support is give to you by all levels of management - not a days got by where they don't stop to check in on you for five minutes, having a quick conversation about how you are getting on and any areas you feel you need more support in - super helpful!

Constantly busy! There isn't a minute that goes by that there isn't something that you could be doing - theres always a delegation list to go through so whenever theres a gap in serving customers, its right to the desk to tick off the delegation to ensure everyone is keeping on top of things.

After the first few weeks of learning what to do - you are essentially given full responsibility from there on out! You can be left to deal with customers independently, deal with emails (compliments and complaints) and make calls to customers - it can be daunting at first, however, management are always there on hand when you struggle.

The wide variety of skills I have gained through this internship will not only assist me in my final year of university, but throughout my future career. I have gained confidence in not only dealing with customers, but in running a business. Additionally, I have gained confidence in myself to trust my judgement in certain situations.

The overall atmosphere within ERAC was great - everyone was friendly, everyone got along with one another, and there was always some fun going on! The only times the atmosphere would slightly lag would be if it was an incredibly busy and hectic day for everyone it could sometimes dampen the mood.

The internship set up was superb! All interns were trained thoroughly in the first three weeks, after that we were set up with the skills and knowledge to do things completely on our own - and even train any newbies coming in after us! As well we had monthly reviews with management to go over how we were progressing.

ERAC as a company are always wanting to allow their employees to become the best that they can be - whether that is through additional training, development or promotion. The company invest a lot of time into ensuring that you are completely satisfied with how things operate - and if you aren't too sure, you can simply ask and additional training can be provided to you within the week.

The company offer a great platform for quick progression within your career - along with all of the additional support given to you by management to accelerate well - which is an obvious appeal. The only thing that would slightly put me off is the longer working hours - which can result in a loss of work/life balance at times.

Yes 100%. There are always work nights out going on - for not only the interns but for the whole branch. Additionally, everyone gets on so well that plans are made to see each other outwit work as you create a great friendship bond with the people you work with.

I live within the city so it wasn't any different for me from how much it usually would cost. The company like to reward their staff for hard work to usually company nights out as a branch are payed for by the company and/or management - which is a create incentive for your hard work!

Again, having lived in the city my entire life I didn't experience any difference. However, the management at ERAC did organise some great work nights out to reward us for our hard work - which consisted of experiencing the nightlife of Glasgow - which was great for interns not from this area.

Yes. During my time at Enterprise, there was the opportunity to get involved in Pride Edinburgh and Pride Glasgow; where Enterprise had a multi-coloured car representing the company within the pride events; as well as the branch going out to experience pride events going on throughout the city - it was great!
