The Role
I was made to feel welcome from the beginning and learned many new skills and a lot about myself. I had great training & support from colleagues & management. Being given responsibility straight away made me feel valued and part of a team. My mentor gave me regular feedback and appraisals.
I felt very valued by colleagues from the start as my their jobs depended on me doing mine well. Everyone was readily available to answer questions and support me. I also attended training courses, socials & functions which made me feel valued & part of the team. I received a good salary as well as target related bonus.
My mentor was fully supportive and gave me regular feedback including formal appraisals. I had a sports injury during my placement & he was very supportive & flexible at this time. I was able to work on my own initiative but always knowing I had someone to ask. Senior management were also very approachable & involved in staff functions.
Very busy on most days although sometimes it was harder to source candidates from different offices to the one I was working in, as I was allocated to support offices in Bristol & Plymouth. I would have liked experience in the next stage of the recruitment process to understand how my role fit in with others.
I was speaking to potential candidates by phone within a few days of starting and responsible for my own adverts. I was also given the responsibility of driving company hire cars to training & other offices. My placement was an actual job rather than just work experience with permanent staff members depending on my performance,
The placement was extremely useful in helping me understand the theory of my business degree, as Randstad is the number one global recruitment company, I learned a lot about what strategies contribute to its success. I also learned a lot about myself, my strengths & weaknesses and future work preferences.
The Company
Lively, busy, sociable, quite fast paced with a good mix of similar like minded colleagues of different ages. Staff were very welcoming and supportive and I was invited to several socials, team building events and annual conference. I also visited the two offices I supported and met staff there which was great to put faces to names.
It was very well organised and a good mix of on the job training, online courses and classroom training in the head office training centre. I had regular one to one sessions with my mentor as well as formal appraisals. I had an excellent induction and ongoing training as required but would also like to learn more about other roles.
I received excellent training and development with a variety of different training approaches and weekly sales days to help me understand sales targets and healthy competition. I attended office visits, an outdoor team building event, head office training centre and annual conference as well as regular social events with my team and the wider company,

I think Randstad are a great company to work for but would like to learn more about other roles and what development opportunities are available for graduates. I feel it has given me an excellent grounding and introduction to the workplace and I have learned a lot to contribute to my degree and my future working life. I really appreciate the opportunity of working for a successful company like Randstad!
The Culture
Excellent social scene both formally and informally. I was working with similar aged and like minded people who were sociable in and out of work. I feel my main strength is compatibility with others and working as a team in a people focused environment so this was ideal for me.
Relatively expensive as city Centre Manchester with brilliant socializing opportunities as it was very central to the main bars clubs and restaurants. Good commuting was available through public transport with a rail station across the road, buses and a metro link service to the wider area of Manchester and Cheshire.
Very good lots of bars, clubs, restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, tourist & sight seeing attractions, cinemas and good transport access to wider areas in North West.
Yes I am repeating previous information but regular socials, team building, training, annual conference and visits to other offices. Also weekly sales days with fun & motivational activities which made me realize how competitive I am!
