    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The skills I have gained from this year in business are extremely transferrable and I have learnt a lot. I've also made friends for life! The placement was a lot of fun, albeit hard work, so if you are looking for an 'easy placement', you need not apply as this isn't for you.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Regardless of whether or not you're a graduate or doing a placement, you are valued just the same. As long as you work hard!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You are given a mentor at the beginning of your placement who is there to provide support and guidance throughout, I met with him every 3 months (but could have met him more if I wanted). Managers within your branch are also very helpful and offer on the job training, however sometimes monthly reviews aren't completed because they're too busy - but this will depend on your manager!

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The branches can get very busy, especially during peak times. If you enjoy a busy atmosphere, and can keep a level head and prioritise throughout, this is the perfect place for you. The days fly by!

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • By the end of the placement, I was running the branch most days. You are given as much responsibility as you wish to take on.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Being a business student, the skills I have developed during this year will be easily transferrable to both my studies and any potential future job roles. Customer service, marketing, finance, sales.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I was lucky enough to be in a large branch with a lot of people, meaning the days were always a lot of fun. Enterprise hire like-minded people that they know will fit in with everyone else.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 10/10. Cannot complain. They've done this multiple times before, and have therefore found the best way to get you from start to finish. There is lots of relevant training, and they monitor you throughout.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • This was excellent. We had regular training workshops at head office, every 3 months or so, with the intention of getting us promoted within 12 months. We also had monthly PDMs to ensure we were confident with everything we were learning.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If you work hard during your placement, it is very rare that Enterprise won't offer you a job at the end. They value their employees and they will want to keep you!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are multiple bars and pubs, and we all went for regular after work drinks and meals. It was tradition that every Friday we went for a few drinks.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived here anyway so I feel like I can't comment on this. It's not cheap here though! Luckily Enterprise offer jobs all across the UK, so you can ultimately decide where you live and work (depending on availability in that area).

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not the best, not the worst. Clubs are pretty sparse. We had an area night out every 3 months and it was a lot of fun regardless. It's what you make of it! I still go for nights out with my work friends.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes! Lots of opportunity for volunteer work, charity work, attending Pride events, getting involved in Women In Leadership. The list goes on! If there's something you have a passion in, let Enterprise know, they may take it on board.
