The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Costain, I had the opportunity to experience multiple departments to gain an overall understanding of how the project operates.
Everyone in the team was extremely helpful, they made me feel very welcome and went out of their way to assist in the work that I was set.
The management team always showed an interest in what I was doing and ensured that I experienced a wide variety of work experience within the different departments.
The department that I was working for always ensured that I kept busy at all times.
I feel like the work I was given to do had an output and a purpose.
From a design perspective, I had a good insight into the drawing, specifications and design reports which are required as part of the project deliverables. This will assist me in the report writing for my major individual project.
The Company
Very friendly, a good vibe around the project and everyone seemed to work together as a team.
Everything was well organised, from having my security clearance in place and from the structure that Jess Kirby and Mike Linley set up to go around the different departments.
As a result of my internship, Costain have kindly offered me a sponsorship for my 3rd year at university.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing.
The Culture
Yes there was a good social scene.
No different to my home cost of living as I was able to travel daily to my internship office.
Not applicable
Yes there was a few social events during my internship, the main memory was the sports day which was good fun.
