About You
I thought it was a fantastic overview / insight as to what goes on at M&G prudential. The speakers- especially the panel at the begininning of the day- gave good tips and tricks for the application process. The trading game was also a fantastic experience, far more engaging than other insight days I have been on.
As this was an insight day, I didnt take much notice as to how valuable I felt. That being said, the structure of the day was crammed, though in this case that was a good thing as it's best to pack in everything possible to take the most out the day.
Again, this question doesnt really apply because it was only an insight day however in terms of support, the networking throught the day- especially lunch- was very helpful. I though everyone was very friendly and genuinly happy to help with any questions I had. Also day was laid out well.
The main event of the day was the trading game, which ran four exercises throughout and was a good opportunity to test our skills. I thought it was fairly straightforward and useful. In terms of assisting in my degree studies, it did not help a huge amount however the networking was good for application tips.
The Company
The structure of the insight day was crammed however as mentioned earlier this was a very good thing. I thought everything went on for the right amount of time, although potentially the panel could have shortened their presentation in order to answer more questions as there were some unanswered ones at the end.
The general atmosophere was fantastic; everyone who came for the insight day was realy to network and chat. The four trading exercises throughout the day brought everyone closer and loosened it up. Furthermore the speakers were all themselves and not corporate robots, which i actually expected, so it was refreshing.
as this was only an insight day I did not expect the company to huugely invest their time in me, therefore this quesiton is somewhat irrelevant. However, the trading exercises albeit straightforward, assisted me in my training of market trends and what to avoid / look for in a company.
I believed , to some extent, the speakers and employees at M&G, gave a good presentation as to what day to day life is like at M&G prodential. For example they spoke about their working hours, what is expected and not expected of you, and why M&G is such a good firm to work at.
This was one standout feature from the insight day; I thought the company culture came through fantastically as a down to earth firm where employees are encouraged to be themselves instead of some corporate robotic soulless drones. The company culture came through very well, and I will encourage it to other people.
The content of the day was useful in helping me decide on my future career path. For example during the day there was a variety of speakers, employees at the company, such as people from Fixed income, Investment director, commercial management graduate, operational risk management and others. There were very useful.
Everything Else
I did not expect to be paid for this as it was just an insight day therefore this question does not apply to my experience at M&G Prudential. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .
During the insight day there were plenty of opportunities for networking throughout the day. For example during lunch we all spoke to employees at the company, graduates and former interns who all were very helpful in giving hints and tips as to applying for graduate schemes and internships. . .

Yes, several of the presentations given in the morning of the insight day focused on adressi ng the work life balance. In these presentations, M&G showed how staff bonding is a real focus, illustrating how employees in your division often go out on team building exercises such as mini golf.
Absolutely, I have already recommended this insight day to several people in first year who are looking at applying for internships next year. Out of all the insight days I have been to, I really appreciated how friendly and 'normal' the employees were; because of this I would definitely recommend to a friend.
