About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the PwC office in April. I learned so much, everyone was so helpful and I was trusted to do associate tasks on live projects. I felt like I could ask anyone questions and they would be willing to help me with whatever I was working on.
I was shadowing an associate while I was there so I helped her with some of the work she was doing and I felt like my input was definitely valued. I felt like I could ask any questions I needed to to ensure that the work I was doing was correct.
We received a lot of support on this program. We started together on the first day and were then assigned to our buddies so we had a lot of one on one time to ask questions if there was anything we were unsure about at any point during the week.
The insight week gave me a chance to develop skills that will be exceptionally useful when applying to future internships and jobs and when actually working in an office in the future. I had to do a task on excel and I feel like my skills improved hugely even in such a short space of time.
The Company
There was a clear structure where we had assigned buddies in the department and line of service that we had chosen. The fact that it was one on one was so useful. It was 3 days long so we met everyone at the start and then again at the end of the program.
There was a hugely positive and inclusive atmosphere in the office during the insight week. Everyone was very willing to help me with anything that I was struggling with, and I also found that everyone was really happy to chat to me about what their job entailed day to day.
They invested a lot in us for such a short program. We each had a laptop to ensure that we could carry out any work assigned to us and reply to emails. We were also given the chance to apply to an internship in the same line of service for the following summer.
Spending three days in the office was the best way to find out what it would be like to work full time with PwC. The work was different each day and the office was bright and positive every day. I also got to see the work that an associate does on a project.
spending three days in the office was possibly the best way to learn about the company culture. Everyone was so willing to talk to me about their job and the company and they all genuinely liked working there, which I think is a good sign of wiring there in the future.
The insight was very useful in helping me to deice my future career path as I decided that I really like this line of work and therefore decided to apply to their next step, the internship which could also lead on to a graduate placement for after university. They also gave us advice on the application steps.
Everything Else
There was a huge range of opportunities to meet and network with employees of all levels in the firm. Everyone from partners to associates was willing to put aside a few minutes of their day to talk to me about their job and what it entails. This was one of the most useful aspects of the insight.

Absolutely- there is no better way to find out if working in a certain department or line of service in a big office is the right career path for you. I learned so much about the company and developed so many useful skills that will help me to get a job in the future.
