The Role
I do enjoy my internship period, the amount of work given is adequate and I do get to learn alot about auditing whether on the job or through interactive e learning. Work hours are fine as well and working environment is perfect. I do get to work with colleagues of different hierarchies and be able to see how each project is run.
I felt valued by my colleagues as they were very willing to hand me work. As a natural seeker, I love to volunteer for work and they were willing to teach me first before handling me the work. This allowed myself to contribute substantially to my team and be able to play a part in delivering the audit checks.
I was given full support by both my manager and also supervisors. In addition, even junior associates were willing to give support, teaching me certain tasks, constantly checking whether I can manage the tasks and guiding me through each work. They do provide proper feedback as well so I do know where to look out on.
I would say that I was mostly busy throughout my internship period. As I was attached to one of the larger clients, there were quite a number of work we have to handle by just a mid sized team of us. In addition we had a tight deadline to meet so there was some work to be done everyday.
I was given alot of responsibility in terms of not only handling the tasks but also to participate in meetings and conduct the minutes for the meetings. I was also given the opportunity to be in charge of analysing clients financial reports and deliver an evaluation for my colleagues which was meaningful.
The work I was doing would largely help in terms of computing skills as I was mainly working on certain softwares during my time there and they were very useful for shortcuts when I'm doing projects during my university term time as well. In addition, I pay better attention to detail now.
The Company
General atmosphere was great. Everyone was friendly to each other, weren't much hierarchy boundaries there. Everyone was friendly and very inclusive in general. However it is not very easy to communicate with certain colleagues as they were constantly out of office. Other than that, atmosphere is fine, great for a start.
Everything was well organised, from the induction program to the transition to the client's office. The communication is smooth and laptops were issued at the start of the induction and double checked. Also given a security brief on the DOS and don'ts which is great. Management as fluid in terms of adjusting if needed.
Given alot of training by the firm, e learning program was useful and I do get to learn off the office hours if needed and manager would check in if needed. Given alot of resources to work with and equipment issued was up to standard, nothing too outdated and similar to full timers.

Pretty appealing in general in terms of progression from an associate to a director. There is a steep learning curve involved and you have to learn how to adapt to it. However, the salary for the amount of work is not up to standards as compared to firms of similar size and perhaps could be improved.
The Culture
There was a very good social scene. we had meal orders as a group and also dinners together whether is it after work or during the weekends. Also have pub nights on Fridays to relax upon and snack runs if needed, basically making sure each team member is happy to be working in the team.
Socialising was fun and games, lots of events and places to head to without too much hassle. However cost of living is substantially high especially for public transport and food. Probably takes up quite a big chunk of the pay given hence it's an expensive cost of living in London
Nightlife is great alot of bars around town and there's alot of clubs if need be, just a stone's throw away. Pub nights is conveniently located right opposite my workplace which is good for socialising after work together with my colleagues. Meaningful nights are well spent there mostly if needed.
There was constantly endless opportunities to get involved outside of work. Got invited to play tennis, basketball and even join the football team which i managed to give a shot. Also tried out basketball with my colleagues and had a ton of fun socialising through sports. Given opportunities to explore other areas of sports.
