The Role
I really enjoyed every moment of this placement.
Everyone at the Cambridge office was very friendly and helpful.
The scheme was designed with a set pathway involving regular meetings and goal setting.
We were encouraged to seek out work and manage our own workload.
We were given a great deal of responsibility (given that we were just SVS students). Everything we produced was checked over of course but we were able to attend client meetings and felt like we made a contribution.
It was a fairly short placement but I learned some useful and interesting things nonetheless.
The Company
While everyone was very productive it was a very friendly chatty office with lots of outside of work socialising.
There were a few hiccups around it access etc but it was very well organised overall.
Individual members of staff were keen to answer questions and provide feedback. Overall we were given a lot of training opportunities and formal opportunities to get feedback on our performance.
I will be joining the firm after I have finished my degree.
The Culture
We were included in the firm gatherings and the wider team at lunch times.
Not as expensive as London but not cheap either.
I didn’t check it out.
There was a lot of socialising outside of work.
