About You
Really enjoyed the range of work I was able to do. Went to several networking events which were really fun also.
I always felt comfortable to ask any questions and was always included, whether to lunch or after work events.
My manager and assistant manager were always there with any questions I had about the work, deloitte or just working in general. I always receive honest answers and was given information about working and tips that you may not find on line. The fantastic guidance definitely stood out to me during my vacation scheme.
The skills I learnt will not assist me during my degree. It has given me a basis for my knowledge on audit and advisory so will help me if I decided to go down that route. I had never been to a networking event before my summer vacation scheme, doing so many there has definitely boosted my confidence when meet new people at different positions.
The Company
Training days at the start introduced us to the company and what we would be doing. Also several training courses throughout helped me to learn even more. I was put on a real account and was given multiple different tasks to do on this. I always felt like I had work.
I loved the work hard, play hard atmosphere that I felt around the office. I found it quite motivating. Obviously you do have to do some tasks that you don’t find as fun as others but that is expected. Several different types of events outside of working hours really made it feel like a family.
I was given a lot more “actual” work to do than I expected. They constantly tried to give me different work as well to ensure I wouldn’t just be doing the same thing throughout the scheme. I was enrolled into multiple online courses as well.
The scheme has shown me that there is hard work to be done. But has also shown me that it’s a very nice working environment and everyone (I) met in at Deloitte is extremely helpful and friendly.
The company has a very inclusive culture, making everyone feel welcome. They enjoy learning off people from different backgrounds to maybe do things more efficiently.
I went into the scheme unsure of what career path to go down. I’m slightly more sure now but still not certain.
Everything Else
I was paid for working. I was reimbursed for all travel that wasn’t to my base office.
Vacation scheme networking events as well as summer parties and welcome events. Lots of different opportunities to meet many new people at different levels of the company.
I really enjoyed all the networking events. Even though it was with Deloitte there wasn’t a sense of having to act extremely formal.
We were told during our first day training that there are sports teams ect. I was also told about opportunities by my team. Also invited to events such as summer parties and team drinks and meals.
I think it was a really great experience and will look very good on a CV. Overall I really enjoyed the whole scheme.
