About You
The insight was really amazing as it was a glimpse into the work that PwC undertakes and especially in the tax line of service. I really enjoyed the insight because of the culture at PwC and the manner in which they ensured that every member feels like they belong in PwC.
Throughout the insight, everybody was very warm and welcoming. Everybody in the tax team were so kind that I continuously felt like I belonged at PwC. I constantly felt valued at the firm because of the manner in which my supervisors always ensured that I was able to understand PwC thoroughly.
I was able to gain a lot of support and guidance through the insight. This did not just extend to the content that was given to me but also the presentations that I was able to sit through. The support I received from my supervisors through th tasks given to me and the guidance on how to carry it out was truly amazing.
The skills that I developed from this insight especially with regards to presentation of information really assisted me in the essay-based modules of my degree. This particular skill also helped me in my extra curriculars as it ensured that the content I produced, always delivered the message in a crisp and concise manner.
The Company
The insight was well structured for me as it allowed me to meet a series of associates and employees at various levels.
The atmosphere was really inviting. The workplace is designed to ensure that everyone can collaborate and work in a team which ensured that that ambience was always good. The atmosphere was always lively and happy with people working on different projects. I believe one of the biggest contributions to the atmosphere is the good work-life balance that employees have at PwC.
The firm invested a great amount of time and facilities into ensuring that I was well prepared for the tasks I had to complete. This included the provision of various equipment, podcasts and videos that assisted me in understand my task as well as extensive training through meetings and presentations that ensured that I was able to complete my tasks.
The insight greatly helped me understand what a full time role at PwC and particularly in the tax line of service would be like. The insight allowed me to speak to various colleagues who were able to share their experience at PwC in various departments through which I was able to understand the role well.
The insight was very helpful in helping me understand the company's culture through the people and the atmosphere. My supervisors and the team that I was working in always ensured that I was given a glimpse into the company through the perspective of an employee and helped me understand the warm culture at PwC.
The content of the week was very critical to helping me understand whether the Tax line of service was what I wanted to pursue at PwC. Content was provided through a plethora of channels including presentations, videos and podcasts. The various presentations and notes that I had made throughout the week, helped me understand whether the role was suitable for me.
Everything Else
There were many opportunities for me to network and meet with people from various departments.
The networking breakfast that I attended during my insight was extremely helpful. I was able to meet new people from different departments, understand the culture at PwC and particularly gain a glimpse into the opportunities that PwC provided for employees to build relationships. Through the breakfast, I also learnt about the importance of finding a mentor who would be able to guide me through my career.
There were lots of opportunities for me to understand the activities that employees were involved in outside of work. Through various conversations I was able to understand that this employees were involved in various volunteering activities, sports and other recreational hobbies. The large number of employees that engaged in volunteering activities truly inspired me as it reflected on PwC's focus on giving back to society.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend as it was truly an amazing experience for me.
