The Role
My internship was truly amazing. From the beginning i felt my contribution really made an impact on the work we delivered. The projects at BH are really interesting and all over the world! As an intern i had the chance to work on projects within all different specialities, economic, social, environment etc.
Our team was really welcoming, everyone happy to help with my assignment and share their expertise. When giving comments, everyone was really supportive and made me want to improve my work. Beyond our work, the team was social, asked for pints and chatted during lunch. Definitely a great company to join and learn from!
My immediate supervisor checked up on me every once in a while and was always open to assist if i needed something. I also had the chance to work with associates and directors, who were equally happy to help with everything. Sometimes i wished more feedback on my development, but when asked i suppose it was available.
I was busy almost from the first day forward, as the team was very busy. I had multiple projects at a the same time, so i improved my time management skills and learned what times longest. Sometimes assignments took more time from me than other members, so i worker really long hours.
I was given a lot of responsibility, my deliverable were due to only a short time before the actual project was due, so the team trusted i can complete my assignments in time manner and with quality. The level of assignments grew the longer i had been there. I felt my work directly contributed to the overall project.
As an intern i had the opportunity to develop many of my skills with a guidance from senior team members. All skills i learned are highly transferable. There are some skills i wished i had the chance to develop further, but the time did not allow it. I thin the internship supported well my skills i learned at school.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was busy but fairly relaxed. Everyone worked hard, and it was quit quiet in the office. Everyone has their headphones one and joining meetings.During summer there was many social events, so it was fun. Some spontaneous after-works, which was great. The facilities are good, so it was nice conditions to work in.
The internship was well organised, however some more practical things were not. There was a laptop waiting for me, met my line manager and had some material to read. Then actually what projects i would be involved in took a bit longer. In a while it became easier as i understood how the team worked.
As it was only 2 months internship, there was no financial investment in me - however any opportunity to meet other team member, learn, network etc. was very much encouraged. Short, internal workshops were arranged - so team members time was invested. The company also was very flexible is any special arranged was needed e.g. days off etc.

Company Parties/Events
Working from home
They are great, as an internet some of the opportunistic were not available for me, but i was hired after my internship and then more benefits become open. The company and their way of working made me definitely work at BH and keep improving myself. I know the team and company supports my professional growth!
The Culture
Social scene was great, however not always as easy to participate. Some of the events started so early, that i could not join due to my assignments. There is also a different what team you join, as some teams are more isolated. I think the social scene is good and welcoming.
I lived in London before joining, so the cost of living did not surprise me. Living close by would be impossible with the intern salary, but as it's so central, commuting is easy. Food and everything around the office is fairly costly, but there are some cheaper options as well e.g. a good comedy club for £1.
The nightlife around our office is good, but costly. Nightlife in London as a city, it's great! I'm sure anyone coming here has a good time! There is something for everyone and for a city of 9 mil people the public transport is great, so where every you live you can join all kinds of events.
During the year i think there is more, during the summer many are on vacation and there is other things going on. I think if one interns during the yea, there is more opportunities. I personally did not mind, as the team had some suggestions what could be useful to attend.
