    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement with Enterprise. Every day was different and I got the opportunity to dive straight into all the different aspects of the business. The team at my branch and head office made joining the company as easy and comfortable as possible.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Although I was only an intern I was treated like a full time employee, both in terms of responsibility and being rewarded for hard work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The first few days in the office I was given a lot of support from my manager and assistant manager as they taught me the basics. After this I normally worked with the other employees and they helped me as they had been in my situation. However every so often the manager would sit me down to do one on one training on new tasks. They would always help me if I asked.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Each day was completely different in the office! Some days we would be really busy, sometimes having to work late then some days we were done on time. The variety was nice because it meant you were never bored and on the quiet days I could do additional training.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • There was a lot of responsibility given to me from the very first day. Serving customers and being the face of the company is a big responsibility because Enterprise prides itself on its customer service. There was also the obvious responsibility of driving some expensive cars and dealing with big corporate accounts.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Time management and forward planning skills are what will really stay with me and be used in my final year at university. The fast paced nature of the work meant that I always had to try and be prepared for anything.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The people in my office were amazing. Not only were they supportive and offered help whenever I needed it but also kept a really good fun atmosphere. Having area night outs and statement meals really helped me bond with them.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was really well organised. All information was emailed over to me and I was told I could ring the head of acquisition at any time if I had questions before I started. Throughout the internship I had regular calls from head office to check my progress too.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested a lot in me, they provided training days at the head office to make sure I was ready for the stage tests and also made me full aware of what I could expect if I chose to go back after I finished university.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Financial Bonus

    Above 25 days holiday

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very! I would really like to go and work for Enterprise after I have completed my degree. The ability to work anywhere in the country is also beneficial. The company is also very open about promotions so having something to work towards is good.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, I was invited to "intern drinks" within the first few weeks of the internship to meet other people in a similar position and then also met up with the group I started training with.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area I worked in wasn't too expensive. During branch meals out the company paid and I took a packed lunch from home most days so generally didn't worry about expenses too much .

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There were some good restaurants and dessert shops however we didn't go out for drinks or clubbing in that area so don't know.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, lots of charity events ran by the company, I got involved with a car wash in my final week. They also run monthly activity days for people with the best sales figures.
