  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed being a part of the amazing culture at the company, employees helped me settle in and the training process was a useful introduction to the job.

  • I was able to create & run innovative projects that could be used to grow the business. I felt valued by the team around me.

  • My team and manager were instrumental in giving me the best chance to succeed. They were supportive and encouraging which in turn helped me in the role.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy in merchandising where management of time was important. Work was engaging and useful. Moving into buying the type of work switched more to shadowing etc.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted and encouraged to give trade updates in seasonal meetings for example. I was responsible for the allocation of stock to stores on a day to day basis.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Absolutely the personal skills will assist in my life beyond university. They were crucial in shaping my year and the support given was fantastic. The technical skills were more tailored to the job role itself as an analyst rather than my university degree.

  • Transition from Merchandising to Buying could have been managed in a better way

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Met up semi regularly with other placements and socials were organised throughout the year

  • Just north of London area was fairly expensive

  • Generally fairly poor and was made ill from one particular bar. Although some good pubs.
