About You
Meeting different colleagues within the business itself, all the way from new starters on apprenticeships.. to current senior audit managers, which gave me a valuable insight into the company.
During my time at the insight day, we were told in advance to wear professional clothing and from then I felt part of the day, we were all treated as professional individuals which also enhanced my experience of what it may be like within the work place.
We received a lot of support form the HR team when completing initial and team-based tasks, given different strengths and weaknesses, which I took on as guidance on how to do better the next time.
I developed many skills whilst attending Insight Day, such as communication, professionalism, teamwork, confidence, and many others, which enhanced my learning. They will assist me beyond as I wish to become a charted accountant in the future, having an insight as small was just as helpful for myself, as I was able to improve many skills, as well as this meeting new people.
The Company
The day itself was very organized and structured well, we were given a clear indication and clear insight on the day itself. I enjoyed looking at the office and conference room that we were in on the day, meeting new students and communicating with senior colleagues.
The atmosphere was great! meeting new people really helps us all get out of our comfort zone! which is a huge benefit for when we go into our career paths! I was very motivated as I wish to apply for BDO this upcoming year, therefore, the Insight Day for me was very useful.
As I attended an insight day for a one-day event I wasn't given this option, however, we were all given a lot of information on the different roles and career paths that were involved.
The day itself equipped us with the skills and knowledge required for the role and how working and studying could impact us, and ways to overcome this. What kinds of things our everyday workday could impose on, meeting and traveling to a range of clients.
The day helped me a lot, as I got to speak to other colleagues on the day from the company, which helped me a lot in making my decision to apply for this company, and having tips and insights into the firm really helped me as I could make my decision and getting first-hand knowledge from new graduates that went through the same process I had done.
The day helped me as I aspire to become a chartered accountant it is my goal to pursue my career with BDO, and I was able to decide what career path would be suited to me from what I enjoy doing, each colleagues involved were able to provide us with a lot of information.
Everything Else
NA
yes! we had the chance to meet many colleagues within the business, apprenticeship students and first-year graduate intake students and we also met a student that was on there way qualifying and meeting the senior team that managed graduates and how they help the team, this gave us a good chance to network and communicate with each other
Networking was great! It was a fantastic opportunity to meet new graduates working for BDO, and senior colleagues, I wasn't given a chance to meet other employees in the business as it was just a one day insight day, however I still had the opportunity to meet everyone, which was a very valuable learning experience for me.
I wasn't able to find out much information on this however briefly touching on this, we were given information on how after joining the team there are also many events that the team will go on together, team working tasks and other tasks that help build a team.
I would completely recommend this to anyone even my friends as it was a great opportunity and I enjoyed being selected and being in attendance, as I was able to experience a day of great facts! It helped me make a choice on what path I wish to pursue and which role would be effective for me, that I know I will excel in!
