About You
I enjoyed it to a large extent. I was well received by the staff, and the office reception were also friendly. There was a structured programme, with plenty of information and valuable insight shared by the current graduates in the firm.
I certainly did feel valued at the company. We were well looked after with refreshments and snacks. There were also a number of activities we were given to do, which provided a good use of our time. However, I feel that more one to one attention with the programme employer/BDO employees would of added additional value to the day.
We received a decent amount of guidance and support during the day, both about the company/application process and also about the activities we were carrying out on the day. However, more guidance in terms of our own individual situations, would have been appreciated.
The information, skills and insight i received, helped me to a large extent, in succeeding in the application processes, both with the firm, along with others in the industry. It gave me more information on the structure an dentry points of the firm.
The Company
It was well structured, for the most part. There was booklets and notepads given out by the firm as well as a stated order of service for the day. It finished on time and there was opportunity for Q&A's as well.
The general atmosphere during the insight day was very good. All other applicants were friendly and enthusiastic about the day and the activities. they were all very competent and inquisitive.
As this was only an insight day, there was not much scope for this to take place.
I t was good, in that it helped me understand the structure and culture of the firm. Also the fact that we could speak to employees helped.
It helped me to understand the culture slightly, through speaking to current graduates through the day, but this was not sufficient enough time.
the content of the day was very helpful as I was given a large amount of information about the industry of professional services as a whole.
Everything Else
As this was an insight day, I was not reimbursed for expenses.
yes! There were opportunities to network with colleagues at the beginning, middle and end of the day. However, not so much with employees.
They were quite scarce, in terms of meeting and networking with BDO employee's themselves.
Yes. These sort of details would have been given out, through the powerpoint presentation by the company.
Yes I would. For general information about the industry and individual firm, as well as details on the apllication process; its worth it.
