Summer Intern Review

Challenging, busy environment to work. Working with a lot of people so definitely apply if you're a people person. You receive a lot of support and work alongside a great team. The team helps each other to succeed. You get to experience a lot of areas of the business which varies your experience.

Great team. Lots of support from management, grads and other interns. You get introduced to a lot of people within the business. You get recognition for all of your hard work and people do appreciate the work that you do every day. Overall, the team definitely made the experience great.

All colleagues are willing and happy to help you. You get a great level of support from everyone including management. Everyone wants to see you succeed and to make you excel during your time at Enterprise. You'll find yourself supporting and guiding grads on their onboarding too. Overall, your managers are a great support/guidance.

Generally, because it's the summer period, it is very busy. You will definitely have days were you extremely busy but it's good experience for working under pressure. It was busy but generally was controlled well. Days went in quick and you can keep yourself busy for sure, especially with having your project. Sometimes you can struggle to work on the project being so busy, but speak to your manager and find some time.

Given a lot of responsibility. You help with onboarding on grads, work on your own project and generally do what you would if you were on the grad scheme. You are responsible for making decisions such as what you can offer to make customers happy if something has happened to make the service poor etc.

Going to be very useful for interviews and experience etc. Didn't use too much theory from my course but you learn professional experience and definitely further your management skills. You will develop other skills such as problem solving skills, people skills and communication skills. It's a great addition to your CV but also valuable experience.

It was a good atmosphere the team definitely made it a fun experience. Even in busy times we were there to support each other and make sure we were all ok. The environment was always upbeat and fun but we all knew to do our job to the best of our ability.

The organisation of the internship was good overall. Rotas were given in advance so you knew when you were working over summer. The HR team kept you very up to date during the run up to starting letting you know of all upcoming training events and start dates. Your transport to the Stirling branch for any trainings was covered alongside lunch.

Enterprise definitely invested a lot in myself and the other interns. They wanted to see us succeed and helped us along the way. A lot of training was on the job but we were given the chance to use and develop a lot of our skills. We were given a lot of responsibility and allowed to deal with different people such as corporate customers.

Been offered a job with them. If you work hard and impress you're more than likely to bag yourself a job. I've also been kept on part time whilst at uni which means if I choose to stay on I can be fast tracked through the grad scheme to an assistant manager role.

There were some staff nights out which involved all the team. These were a great way to get to know each other and were a good laugh. Most of the team turned up for these and a lot had money behind them from the company for reaching targets like hitting service scores.

Costs for nights out were generally low. Being based in Glasgow the city had a variety of places to go to. I also live in Glasgow, not far from the Enterprise branch, and it wasn't too expensive to rent here. I made enough during my internship to cover the costs of these.

Again, Glasgow has a great nightlife. There's lots to choose from with a great variety of clubs and bars. Lots of people go out in the area, especially students. While there was lots of places to go in the heart of the city, there is also great places to go such as the West End which is not too far out (although slightly more pricey).

There were chances to go on nights out but not so much activities. Went for dinner and drinks another time too. Now it's past summer there's more chances to get involved with fundraising events such as for Children in Need. I think during summer it was just so busy to get people together.
