The Role
With the exception of travel, the placement was enjoyable because of the work I was given as well as the responsibilities I had.
They made me feel welcome and a valued member of the team
The people I worked with were always able to give me help with the work I was completing when required.
Some days could lack some activities, but that is understandable due to the level of the work and the time in the project
Work I completed was needed for the project and so I feel that the responsibilty I had was important
Collegues helped to make sure that work I completed would be relevent to my degree
The Company
It was heading towards the end of a project and so there was a lot of stress from higher up collegues, but the team I was in tried to make sure that things didnt get too stressful overall
Despite trying to organise timings a few weeks in advance and working around already planned leave, there was still issues up until I started trying to organise everything. Then at the end of the placement there was issues again with the leave that was already agreed for me. Actual work in the office for me was fairly organised depending on the intensity of the work there.
There were regular CPDs held that helped learning, however there was not much focus on specific training
The graduate scheme seems good and the people currently at the office are all welcoming. The experience has helped me with deciding what part of the industry I would like.
The Culture
Hard for me to say as I had to travel for hours most days and so didnt really experience many social events
Similar to above, traveled for hours each day - cheaper for me to live at home
Similar to above, however I have heard there isnt much in the area
Events were attempted to be organised amongst the team - but as above I had to travel so didnt experience much
