About You
I enjoyed the scheme a lot. HR did a great job in organising the scheme and arranging all types of events to make us feel comfortable, and we had the opportunity to meet many people from across the firm. The teams were all nice and welcoming.
I felt quite valued but at times there was not much work available.
My principals were great in providing guidance and support through the scheme.
The information I received about different practices and the chance to meet people from many different backgrounds was very valuable.
The Company
The scheme was very well structured with many events organised for each week for both professional development and social.
The atmosphere was great and all the vac schemers got along well.
Linklaters organised a range of different activities in relation to learning & development; in particular the different practice areas were extremely interesting. They also provided plenty of opportunities for us to network with other vac schemers and lawyers.
It was useful because we had the chance to talk to lawyers and see their experiences, although our experience on the scheme itself is probably not reflective of day to day life at the firm.
The scheme was very useful in providing insight into the company culture as we were brought along to meetings, Christmas parties etc.
The vac scheme definitely made me think about what I valued in my career long-term and what types of work would allow me to meet those values.
Everything Else
Yes - there were many opportunities for networking and everyone was very open to having coffee to talk about their experiences.
The networking and social opportunities were both immense, both structured and unstructured.
We had good insight into the different amenities that Linklaters offers although specific hobbies I only learned about on a case by case basis.
Yes as I had a lot of fun and received a lot of valuable advice and insight into life at a large corporate law firm and whether it is for me.
